How TrashDay builds and verifies schedules

Where the data comes from

Every schedule, fee, and holiday rule is summarized from public municipal sources: city solid-waste pages, published PDF calendars, open-data endpoints, and hauler contract pages. Each page links the exact sources it used. We republish facts — days, dates, fees, rules — with attribution, and we respect site terms and robots directives when checking sources.

The verification stamps

Each page carries a stamp showing the state of its facts. “Measured {date}” means the facts on the page were taken from the listed sources on that date. “Verified {date}” means a later confirmation pass re-checked those facts against the sources. “QA pending” means the record is still moving through our review pipeline — the sources are cited so you can confirm anything yourself, and we prioritize re-checking fees, holiday rules, and collection days because those are the fields people act on. Sources are re-checked on a rolling cycle — weekly during the November–January holiday season, monthly otherwise. When a city changes its schedule, the page's change log records what moved and when.

Sample records

Records marked “Sample record — pending verification” contain representative placeholder data used while the design is under review. They are clearly badged and should not be relied on; verified records are the default once the pipeline finishes a city.

Corrections

Spot something wrong? The fastest fix route is your city's own page linked at the top of each city guide — then tell us via the contact listed in the site footer. Corrections to fees and holiday rules are prioritized because they're the fields people act on.
