Prep rules & exceptions
Do this before it goes to the curb, or it stays there.
- Placement windows precede pickup — Leaves must be at the curb by the start of the zone's two-day PLACEMENT window; crews then work the zone during the multi-day PICKUP window (e.g. Zone C: out Nov 8-9, picked up Nov 10-14).
- Leaf delivery service — Eugene's program also DELIVERS collected leaves to residents (for compost/mulch) - requests are accepted after leaf season begins, via the Request for Service page.
- Program scope — The leaf program covers Eugene city limits (Lane County and Springfield run their own programs for areas outside the city). Pickup requests go live on the city site at season start.
